Product photography

An essential eCommerce ingredient

To copy the text book definition: “Product photography is a branch of commercial photography which is about accurately but attractively representing a product.”

To achieve these attractively accurate images, I offer lifestyle product photography and studio photography. Lifestyle photography is usually on location and may include models. Studio photography can be styled products, flat lays or products on plain or transparent backgrounds.

Miranda is a fantastic photographer. I have been using her for private and business purposes many times now. She took both portrait and product photos which are very professional. She makes me feel comfortable in front of the camera and has many tips on how to present your products better.

Lifestyle Photography

Inspire, Engage, Sell

Online shopping, whilst convenient and open all hours, does have it’s limitations with clients unable to touch or feel your products before they purchase. Lifestyle product photography enhances your eCommerce offerings placing the product in real life situations and helping customers envision themselves using it. These photographs tell a story, create an emotional connect and make the online shopping experience far more relatable and engaging.

These images can be used beyond the product gallery. Use them across your website and banners and cover photos, post on socials and use in other marketing materials.

Where we can create flat lays, styled images and the staple of every eCommerce store, product on white (or transparent). Perfect to show off your product and zoom in on the details. Use them from the product gallery to your Instagram feed.

So how many photos is that?

Product photography is slow and deliberate, to get each detail perfect and hence the least prolific of all the photography styles. An hour of photography for a candle manufacturer where we created a flat lay per scent with multiple ingredients surrounding the candle or room spray (shown above) averaged 6 setups an hour (aka only 12 photos an hour). In contrast I can photograph 6 beach chairs on white (front, back, side, oblique front, oblique back and folded) in an hour (aka around 36 photos an hour).
